Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator’s responsibility is to oversee the residential/commercial division of operations including estimating, customer service, inspecting jobs, assigning crews and managing all aspects of completion of a high quality painting experience for our customers. IQ Painters is committed to making the painting process professional, high quality and an enjoyable experience for 300+ clients we serve annually, by empowering our team members and investing in innovative systems and technology. Our res IQ Painters has continued to grow substantially in the past few years and we see increasing demand for a professional manager to oversee our residential/commercial painting process.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator is involved in supporting many aspects at the field-level for residential/commercial painting, included but not limited to, resident inquires and providing outstanding customer service to homeowners, property managers, and real estate agents.

  • Provide leadership and establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with all staff and promote a positive project morale.
  • Possess a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the Customer Painting Agreement/ Sub-Contracts scope of work and coordinate ordering materials and delivery of materials to Paint Crews, provide guidance to Paint Crews to complete the painting as specified.
  • Verify that each Sub-contractor Paint Crew has completed painting agreement specifications at the highest level and have met all paint supplier painting application requirements.
  • Maintain good relations and communications with customers during painting process.
  • Represent company in a professional manner as the point of contact in our physical field office.
  • Answer phone calls and give general information or re-directs to appropriate party.
  • Manage general email boxes by giving general information or re-directing to appropriate party.
  • Accept job payments at completion of residential jobs and prompt office when commercial jobs are done for invoicing.
  • Post and upload photos of jobs prior and at completion when requested.
  • Manage paint crew work orders and communicate with Project Manager to ensure work orders are accepted and completed in timely manner.
  • Ensure that subcontractors paint crews follow project safety regulations and adhere to all OSHA regulations.
  • Order materials and supplies (with approval from Project Manager).
  • Inspect ongoing and completed work of painters on the project.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of painting principles, practices and techniques; safety codes and ordinances; company rules and policies.

Ability to:

  • Work under deadlines and coordinate several concurrent assignments.
  • Perform daily quality control checks to ensure job is completed to highest standards.
  • Perform painting coating testing to ensure job is completed to specifications and requirements including moisture test, coating thickness, millage, as required.
  • Ensure customer service and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Promote and maintain good working relationships.
  • Operate company vehicle safely and responsibly (must have valid State of Florida Drivers License)
  • Possess the physical agility necessary to perform job inspections, deliveries and return materials.
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects all at once.


Must Haves (Required):

  • Cell phone and basic computer knowledge
  • State of Florida Drivers License in Good Standing
  • Authorized to work in the United States of America
  • Able to pass drug and criminal background check.
  • Verifiable work history along with professional and personal references.


Additional:

  • Fluent in English & Spanish a plus
  • 2+ years experience Project Coordinator or leadership experience


Compensation:

  • Eligible for Project Based Bonuses and Annual Performance Bonus/Raises
  • 5 Days Paid Vacation Annually (eligible after 6 months of employment)

Journeyman Painter

We seek to hire a professional commercial painter with at least 2 years of painting experience to paint commercial buildings, structural steel, bridges, restaurants, hotels, hospitals and more. The painter must be reliable, pass a background check and/or drug test as required, have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license. We offer our painters careers.


Skills Required:

  • 2-5+ years of full-time brush, roll and spray work experience


Responsibilities

  • Must perform the full scope of skilled painting duties including masking, surface preparation, priming, and painting.
  • Although under the supervision of Painter Foreman, the Journeyman Painter must be able to work independently within established guidelines.
  • Prepares surfaces for painting; mixes and matches paint and prepares it for application; and erects scaffolding scaffolding, rigging and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes.
  • Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches and paints furniture, surfaces, buildings, & fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, water-proofing and heat resistant finishes.
  • Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers & electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials; cleans up work areas when job is finished.
  • Operates motor vehicles.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Plus

  • Wood staining skills and specialty finishing skills a plus
  • Drywall repair experience a plus
  • Wall-covering experience a plus
  • Aerial Lift certification a plus

Painter Technician

Under supervision of Painter Foreman, the Painter Technician’s primary objective is to implement processes and perform support duties to optimize work processes and painting equipment to achieve better maintainability and reliability of equipment and to kickoff, move along and close jobs swiftly and smoothly.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sets up and breaks down job sites.
  • Applies protective coverings to articles or areas, and/or removes furniture that could be damaged or stained by work processes.
  • Alerts and/or posts warning signs, as necessary, on job sites where owners may need move their cars/ property away from the job site to avoid damage or stain by work processes.
  • Erects scaffolding, rigging and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes.
  • Prepares surfaces for painting. Seals, fills cracks, nail holes, or breaks in surfaces of plaster articles or areas with putty or epoxy compounds. Smooths surfaces to be painted, using sanding and buffing tools and equipment.
  • Performs support duties to assist team to complete jobs efficiently.
  • Cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers & electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials; cleans up work areas when job is finished.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Painting Apprenticeship:

  • The Painter Technician will complete a two year apprenticeship including on-the-job training supplemented with instruction on safety, painting techniques and tools.


Plus:

  • Maintenance and repair experience a plus.
